it might take you a little while to realize this, but this isn't me. i did a shoot with a local model this week and I am so excited with how the photos turned out. you can see more on my site here
The calm before the storm...this week was crazy. Kids VBS at work/church this week. I really need to start working on the 52 harder and putting more thought into my photos. I want to start shooting specifically for the 52.

I haven't done a self-portrait in awhile so I picked this photo for this week. I took a lot this week and you can see that over on my other blog. This week was really crazy. In good ways and bad ways. Thinking about moving to Colorado or North/South Carolina in 1-2 years. Work is going to be insane this coming week. Life is happening.
i am still in south carolina.
there is nothing quite like the beach to clear your head.

[these are temp...i need to rescan] I started a wet plate collodion class this week and it's amazing. So stoked. These are the first four plates I made. I was able to get away this weekend and stay at the lake house. Life has been pretty crazy.
i'm in south carolina for the week. i took this riding back from the beach, the light was unreal. this place has such beautiful nature everywhere and it's so different from everything i am used to seeing in colorado.

i went up to the mountains three times this past week. it was so fantastic, the weather has just been too perfect lately. last night we went out on the canoes for two hours, it couldn't have been more perfect.
I got my Mark II this week! It is amazing. So in love. So many bonfires this week, walking barefoot in the street, dance parties in parking garages...I love summer and lovely cameras.

It has been a great week. I launched my new blog & website this week. There is a post on this photo and the recipe on the blog so go check it out. I'm really happy with it and excited to see where it goes. I ordered my Mark II this week and it should get here today.
my brother got home from traveling for the last six months this week. we went to the mountains first thing.

Another dog :) I stayed with this little one, Marty, this week while her parents were in Haiti with the rest of the college team. It was an interesting week. After living in a house alone with a little dog for a week, I am positive I never want to live by myself.
this was one of the most fun weeks of my life. i got to see four of my favorite bands in one week. It has been great to have my friend home from school finally and it's definitely getting me motivated! I also got to talk with one of the most fantastic young photographers out there, Jacqueline Harriet everyone should check out her work! I also got up the mountains and shot this in one of the train tunnels.

Rhodes...love him so much. Got to hang out with this 13-week-old black lab for awhile this past week. I also started my internship at my church and it has been so awesome and I am blessed to say the least. I've been stretched so much during this past month and I've been growing a lot. Life is crazy.

This photo wasn't what I had originally shot for this week. I had set up my lights and shot my first set of pictures in the shower. After I finished shooting I decided to really shower, I bumped the heat lamp overhead on and knew I needed to reshoot. As I shot, I was listening to this song and I came to realize that this is where I stand right now in my faith. I don't know where to go from here, but it definitely wasn't an easy realization to have but I guess only good can come from it.

It's been a really, really rough week. Life is so fragile. But anyway...spent all of Thursday in the city; two starbucks runs, Moody campus & Shane and Shane. It was a good day. I need to move to the city ASAP. I only live 20 minutes away from beautiful Chicago and I do not take advantage of that at all.

i shot my self portrait on film this week, so this is just a placeholder. This is my cousin, I took her to her horseback lesson this week and it is probably one of my favorite places to shoot. It is also at the perfect time and she is almost always riding during the golden hour. We are all behind now, but I will catch up today!
Dragon fruit for my final project for a class; from the series "From The Inside Out." Took these in the middle of the night...cramming to the max.
This is my current housemate, Amanda. She's lovely.

All Sons & Daughters came to my church for the second time this week and it was such a blessing. They are some of the most amazing people; humble people that just really love the Lord. This is my friend Layton that I co-lead with every week.-Alison
Still in love with my new lens. Took my first set of selfies with it indoors to see how it went. The clarity is stunning! I've also moved into my new place now. It's been amazing so far. There's a nice wooden them throughout and lots of light. Perfect!
this didn't turn out like i hoped it would, but i am not going to worry about it.
this week was so relaxing, i spent the second half of the week house sitting and the house had the most incredible view of the mountains. i watched the sunset every night i was there, it was fantastic.

So when i'm ready to be bolder,
And my cuts have healed with time,
Comfort will rest on my shoulder,
And I'll bury my future behind.
inspired by this song. watch the video because it's one of the most beautiful videos i have ever seen
overwhelmed. stressed. frustrated. this week is going to kick my butt. [this is from a current series i am working on for one of my classes.]
Finally got around to testing my new 50 1.4. I love it.

10 hour days at church, Good Friday services, BGVs for Easter, five worship leaders, Jesus is risen.
Went thrifting with friend on saturday, i ended up filming a lot and with sunday being so busy I thought I would just use this.

i love this theme so much! i don't think there is anything i love more then being in the water. when i am in the water, it is such a great escape from reality. once you sink into the water, a whole new world opens up and you can just explore. this is a bit of an ode to a photo that chase took of her sister.
into the wilderness, novels, walking in the grass barefoot, walks on the trail, day dreaming, web design, blog posts, fresh flowers, mat kearney || spring break this week. working on blog/web design. stoked!
When I first saw the theme for this week, I was planning on doing a shoot in the rain. Turns out the weather held off for the week so I didn't get the chance to. Instead I opted for a variant of water: fog. We woke up super early and beat the sunrise to the model's house, shooting beside a small lake and catching the beautiful morning fog. You can see the full series on my blog.

this week was crazy. i shot this in breckenridge at a friends house, the stars were so beautiful! We went to my uncles restaurant in Vail and he served us a TEN COURSE MEAL! As if that wasn't a big enough treat, I got to come back to this view.
I cannot wait until next week is over and I have my major mid-semester assessments done. I've finally got a job now, so I'm hoping I can start saving up for my next lens. I've had my eye on a 50 1.4 for so long, it'll be the first thing I buy with my first few paychecks.
Went to the city this week for a JH & HS mission trip. They made sandwiches and gave blankets to the homeless and shared the love of Jesus. They are rock stars. In other news, I read the Hunger Games trilogy in six days and read "The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green in six hours. I highly recommend both :)

A dress I'd bought months ago at a thrift store finally makes its appearance in my photos. It has adorable buttons and billowy material. See the full series on my blog.
I feel as though there aren't enough hours in the day for everything I want to do.
This past week really sucked. We had to put my dog down on Monday and I miss her tons. She was only 8 and we were expecting it because on week seven we found out she had a cancerous tumor growing on her skull. Blehhhh. Yeah, this sucks.
My mind wanders like a cloud of cigarette smoke

All the photography credit goes to Scott Visk. I just had the pleasure of editing these incredible photos.
I guess I kind of cheated this week but I've been wanting to use this photo for awhile...
God is doing some amazing things @ Harvest Bible Chapel Naperville. Back in February, some leaders from my church went down to Haiti for an exploratory trip. The church is going to be partnering with an orphanage/school/church in Haiti. We have this big NEXT Campaign going on right now...you should check it out here!
This photo just tugs at my heart. The look in this boy's eyes is striking. The facts are true. Take a minute and read the type and just take that in. Incredible and heart wrenching.

i am getting really sick of self portraits, i feel like i lose so much creative control when i have to put the camera on a tripod. i i know i am learning a lot, but i guess i am just sick of editing pictures of myself. i am still applying for schools and looking into more schools on the east coast now too, i am just looking forward to figuring all of this out and knowing where i am going to be.
This is Natalia. I've had the pleasure of working with her twice so far (and hopefully many more times in the future!) She's lovely and absolutely stunning. You can see the full series on my blog.
A selfie I took on my deck one warm afternoon this week. The weather has been amazing and I have a lot to look forward to right now. I am happy.
This is one of my friends, Morgan. My project will mostly be film now, which means that I might have to post two pictures a week in order to catch up, depending on how much time I have to pick up film that week. It's too stressful for me to shoot digital all the time because I don't like it that much.

I cant imagine anything more vain than taking a picture of yourself. oh well, here's what i got for this week.
I got two ski days in at Mary Jane this week and the snow was unreal.
This season has been so icy, so it was great have real snow to ski on.It was just a pretty perfect weekend, such a blessing!
I actually shot and edited this on my phone, which is why the quality isn't the best.I have been really experimenting a lot with my phone this past week, lots of layering and blending.
Nothing special. Went to ISU this weekend for my brothers recital. He's an amazing musician and I am so proud of him.
I'm tired... (read more)
The third and last snow of the season. Spring is coming, I can't believe winter is ending so soon. So much to look forward to.

This is called a backside air.
Business planning, spreadsheets, logo design, web/blog design. Extremely motivated & inspired. This is actually happening.
this week kind of sucked.
so does this picture. i had one that i liked a bit more, but i didn't feel like it was honest with my current state of mind.
35mm film. From a hike Alex and I went on, following a trail behind our house. This photograph makes me think about change and roots and beginnings.
Another photo from the day I met up with Anna and her boyfriend Chris and their friends. They live such a beautiful and fun life that I'm so jealous of. I'm hoping to go visit them again soon!
